With the sounds and sights of the past 900 years filling the Scottish air, you enter the original seat of the Blair family. The core of the house is a castellated tower which dates from the beginning of the twelfth century, with a second adjacent tower built a hundred years later. Additions were made throughout the generations, the result being a most comfortable mansion house with an unmistakable sense of historic significance. Names such as Mary Queen of Scots, William Wallace, Robert the Bruce and King John I are no strangers to Blair's pedigree.

The delightfully landscaped grounds and gardens of the Estate contain a wonderful mixture of species trees and shrubs from all over the world. The Bombo Burn meanders gently for a mile through the gardens creating many natural beauty spots. The ancient Yew tree recorded in the Domesday Book (AD 1086) leans over the burn, presiding on the changes over the centuries.

Blair is so wonderfully situated in western Scotland being 30 minutes by road from the International Airport of Glasgow, while still quietly secluded in its own grounds and policies away from the madding crowd.
