The 400 year old Villa La Grivaliere, is a gem of tranquillity, set in the rich history of the fragrant hills around the ancient perfume capitol of Grasse and is just a short walk from the wonderful walled Medieval village of Cabris, with its many first class restaurants and authentic local bars.

The estate has been beautifully and sympathetically modernised over the last five years and is perfect for those who enjoy both indoor and out door living at its finest. Along with an elegantly designed interior the gardens have been cultivated and manicured to afford a myriad of quiet relaxation areas and wonderful vista. The plantings within the garden are set out to allow flowering plants to be at there best thought the spring and summer months and include Lavender and many variety of Rose as well as the Fig trees and of course the celebrated local olives.
The area is in easy reach of the hustle and bustle of the Cote dAzur and its many hot spots, but is set back in the hinterland where everything moves at a more leisurely pace.
The entire property covers an area of 10,000 square meters (approximately one hectare). The main house sits at the top of the estate with the terraces, brimming with over one hundred mature olive trees, stretching out below. At the bottom of the terraces is a large fenced and alarmed heated swimming pool. There is also The Stables cottage, with its own private garden and separate electric gated entrance where the staff lives.
Recently redesigned and fully modernised by famed Danish Designer Allan Evensen (of such projects as the Leading Hotels of the World, 5 star Hotel dAngleterre in Copenhagen), the main house has retained many original features including beamed ceilings and stone floors. The designer was careful to maintain the integrity and authenticity of the local provincial architecture, while bringing into his design light warmth and comfort, as well as luxury rarely found in this type of property.
On the ground floor are two separate sitting rooms. The main sitting room is off the dinning area and has large designer sofas and a large fire place. It also has a 42 plasma television satellite TV, DVD and Stereo. The second sitting room has oversized arm chairs and a 36 plasma television with DVD and a Sony Playstation. Also on this floor there is an office area with a desk and fax machine. Finally on the ground floor is a new fully fitted open plan kitchen connected to the dinning room and directly above the main terrace and exterior dinning area. The Kitchen has been designed with large windows to make the most of the magnificent garden and has a feel of space, and workability. It is equipped with all modern appliances, including two dishwashers, a large American fridge, with ice and drinks dispenser, a professional Italian gas range with two electric ovens and a microwave / convection oven.
THE MAIN HOUSE:
In the main house there are 5 bedrooms, all with ensuite facilities. Each room has been designed to offer a place of privacy away from the rest of the property. All the bedrooms have Plasma Televisions and DVD, as well as a seating area, a dreser table and wardrobe. There is an extra day toilet and shower located on the ground floor.
Outside and adjacent to the main Kitchen is a lovely paved dinning area with bar and fridge and a professional quality gas barbecue. The Large Teak table can accommodate 14 guests and has Parasols shading it for day time usage. Next to the terrace is an exterior seating area with comfortable sofas; perfect for pre dinner cocktails or a digestive after dinner.
The pool area has plentiful teak sun lounger's as well as parasols and tables. There is a pool house with a kitchen area equipped with a refrigerator and microwave. The pool house also has a changing room and outside heated shower.
Completing this area there is another barbeque and dinning area. And just of to the side a relaxation area with benches.
This is a majestic and historic property which has been lovingly and proudly restored and is maintained to the very highest standards and unusually for this area, is able to accommodate up to 10 guests in absolute Luxury.
