Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1901, Greywalls has been owned by the Weaver family since 1924.

Today, Greywalls provides a luxurious exclusive use venue set in country surroundings just 40 minutes from Scotland's Capital city and Edinburgh Airport. The style and comfort of Greywalls is, perhaps, best exemplified by the quiet luxury of the panelled library; a large, peaceful room lined with books, comfortably furnished and warmed by a log fire. There are 23 bedrooms within the grounds of Greywalls plus a further 4 bedrooms in the Colonel's House located just a few hundred yards from Greywalls.

The delightful walled gardens, with their magnificent views, are attributed to the world renowned designer, Gertrude Jekyll. The walled garden, lavender borders and holly hedges hiding secret enclaves, are meticulously maintained in all their original glory to this day. Within the grounds grass and hard tennis courts, croquet lawn, gardens and terraces are there to be enjoyed until nearly midnight at midsummer, such are the long evenings in this part of the world.

For the golfer there are a dozen courses, including several championship ones, within 20 minutes drive of Greywalls. The house itself overlooks the world famous greens of the 9th and 18th holes at Muirfield. Nearby, sandy beaches, beautiful and so often deserted, are a haven for a myriad of seabirds, and the glorious scenery of East Lothian with its ancient castles, abbeys, stately homes and picturesque fishing villages are but a few minutes drive away along peaceful, winding country lanes.
