Highland Lodge

Fearn Lodge has all the charm of a really comfortable Highland lodge and it is a pleasure to stay and relax in the true countryside of northern Scotland, so far removed from the stresses and strains of modern living. There are numerous sporting opportunities from walking, salmon and trout fishing to bird watching, deer stalking and grouse shooting or simply the chance to soak up the rich atmosphere and culture of this 13,000 acre estate in such an historic part of Scotland while enjoying excellent cooking and discreet service. There is also the opportunity to use the estate's membership of the Carnegie Club at Skibo and enjoy the exclusive facilities, which they provide such as the ornate heated indoor swimming pool, massage and other therapeutic health treatments.

Fearn Lodge has all the usual Highland estate activities and others in the area. It offers first class stalking opportunities in totally unspoiled countryside. There are fine local golf courses including Bonar Bridge within a 40 minute drive, but the highlight is Royal Dornoch 20 minutes away and Skibo only 10 minutes away.

Dunrobin Castle and gardens, Inverewe gardens, Cawdor and Brodie Castle are a few of the historic sights and castles in the surrounding area.

Fearn Lodge was a very famous grouse moor in years gone by and much effort has been put into restoring this recently. Exciting grouse shooting is available over pointers with experienced handlers both on the estate and locally. Pheasant shooting, duck flighting and rough shooting are also available by arrangement.

There is superb salmon and trout fishing on a number of first class rivers all within easy reach of Fearn Lodge, such as the Oykel, the Cassley, the Shin and the Carron, while there are several hill trout lochs providing excellent fighting brown trout fishing. In addition there is a 46 acre Mere that is stocked with a hardy strain of rainbow trout.
