Lake Como Villa

This Villa is situated above the village of Menaggio, on Lake Como in the area known as Croce. It was built in 1910 next to the Menaggio golf course (18 holes) on a project by Carlo Mantegazza commissioned by a wealthy Englishman, Sir Alfred Wyatt. The entire property, including the interiors and the garden, are in the English style. Furnishings are luxurious, with some beautiful antique pieces and paintings. The views from the house and garden are spectacular. The villa is on three levels covering an area of over 7,000 square feet. 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms. Ground floor: A large entry hall with fireplace and beautiful staircase in wood; a drawing room and dining room both with fireplace, library, large kitchen, cloakroom and guest bathroom. The living room and dining room open onto a large covered loggia, ideal for dining al fresco and enjoying the views.

First floor: Four double bedrooms, three bathrooms and three wide covered terraces. Second floor (attic): Two double bedrooms, one bathroom. The villa is surrounded by a beautiful garden with rare plants and trees such as Japanese maples, beeches, cedars etc. with rose gardens, ferns, cottoneaster and ivy. All is set in spacious lawns with artificial ponds and waterfalls. There is a barbecue in a small building adjacent to the verandahs. The variety and color of the plants and flowers from season to season is delightful. From the living areas and main bedrooms there are panoramic views of Lake Como to the mountains of the Valtellina in the distance. Peace and privacy are guaranteed. There is no constructed swimming pool, but swimming is possible in one of the small lakes in the garden.

Three hours of maid service five days per week is included.
