Luca Tuscan Villa

Built in the 17th c. on the terraced slopes just outside of Lucca, the original convent has been restored with care into a high quality villa that sleeps 18 people in great comfort. The mature garden has old growth trees, roses, lavender, bougainvillea. The pool and terraces offer panoramic views over the city and the valley below.

The location of this villa is on the northern hills 6 km outside the walled city of Lucca with downtown Florence about 1 hour away by car or train, half an hour to the sea; the ideal location to explore Tuscany and beyond.

At the Villa you can enjoy the panoramic views and dining al fresco in the many terraces of the well kept garden.
The villa includes a private chapel, an excellent place for a romantic wedding.

Shops, markets and very good restaurants are just minutes away in nearby villages and in Lucca.

The villa is terraced on 3 levels connected by a stone stairwell. The top level has 5 bedrooms, the entry level is in the middle and has 4 bedrooms and the vast living room with several sofas and arm chairs, card tables, fire-place, bar and satellite TV. An extensive window wall opens out to the spellbinding views over the garden, pool and the city of Lucca below. The living room alone is about 1,100 sq. ft.

The ground level has the central kitchen equipped for a gourmet, and a dining table to seat 18 people. Separate laundry room and bathroom are on the ground level. Double doors open out to the terraces for dining al fresco at the outside tables.

The owner couple occupies a private apartment on parts of the ground and middle levels with separate entry. They have a small dog and no children.

The villa has total of 9 bedrooms located on two levels: 3 bedrooms have twin beds and 6 bedrooms have double beds (queen size or larger). One twin bedroom is convertible into a double. Each bedroom has a private bath.
The main (middle) floor of the villa has 4 bedrooms each with an en-suited bathroom. One bedroom has 2 single beds that can be made together, or as twins. The 3 “double” bedrooms have mattresses that are between queen and king sized; in Italian these beds are called matrimoniale.

The upper level has 3 independent apartments each with a comfortably furnished sitting room connected to a well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and a washing machine.

The two 2-bedroom apartments each have one twin and one matrimoniale bedroom. The 1-bedroom apartment has a matrimoniale bedroom (this mattress is typically between queen and king sized).

RENTAL NOTES:

Rates are per week and include electricity, water, general cleaning for about 3 hours at 3 times during the week, final cleaning, and also linen change and cleaning on Saturdays for multiple week rentals.

Not included in the rates are telephone calls, central heating and wood for the fireplace. They are metered and paid according to usage.

Chef and extra cleaning are available.

Welcome dinner available for Euro 35 per person with wine included; cost is Euro 20 per person for young children.

Swimming pool is open from the end of May to the end of September. Pool water is not heated.
