Dochfour House is run as a family home by Alexander Baillie and his wife Gina, who welcome visitors and guests from around the world and allow them to share some of the magic of their home. The fabulous surroundings and contents of the house portray a fascinating historic past. The estate can provide a large variety of activities both locally and further afield, from traditional sporting pursuits such as shooting and stalking to off-road driving.

Dochfour is a renowned shooting estate, providing some of the tallest and testing targets in Scotland as the birds swing off the hills above Loch Ness curling tantalizingly in the wind. Driven days of 500 birds can be arranged and rough shooting for woodcock, duck and other game is also available.

Red, sika and roe deer stalking is available in season at Dochfour, providing some excellent trophy heads both from within and outside the forestry areas. Stalkers can keep the heads by arrangement with the estate.

The area around Inverness boasts many spectacular and famous golf courses, including Nairn, venue for the 1999 Walker Cup, Royal Dornoch and the Carnegie course at Skibo Castle.

Some of Scotland's finest and best known salmon rivers are within easy reach of Dochfour, such as the Spey, Dee, Ness, Conon, Beauly, Oykel, Carron, Cassley and Inver.
