Dundas is a family residence, with nine large, luxurious bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The house provides excellent cuisine and fine wines, and is run by a professional staff experienced in caring for the discerning guest. Dundas has its own squash court and nine hole golf course, and many other activities can be arranged locally. And you can reach the centre of Edinburgh in just 20 minutes by car.

Dundas is one of Scotland’s most historic castles. The Auld Keep was built in 1416 and extended in 1425 under a license from King James I of Scotland. Hugh Dundas joined William Wallace in the defense of his country, and his son, George, fought under Robert the Bruce and was slain in the battle of Duplin in 1332. The estates of Dundas were forfeited to the crown in 1449, but were restored to Sir Archibald Dundas, a favorite of King James II and III. Oliver Cromwell is known to have visited Dundas and a statue of him can be seen at the entrance to the Auld Keep. The famous architect, William Burn, designed the modern castle, built by James Dundas in 1818. Dundas has been in the ownership of the Stewart-Clark family since the beginning of the 19th century, and has been completely restored and modernized by the present Baronet, Sir Jack, and his wife, Lydia.
