Scottish Castle

This Georgian Laird's house has been a family home for twelve generations and remains a place where you can still experience true Scottish living. Overlooking lochs and woodland, all eight bedrooms and bathrooms are different, each decorated to complement its particular furnishings and paintings. The estate can lay on a variety of different activities and there are many attractions in the area. David and Jayne are extremely genial hosts who ensure their guests enjoy their stay at Hatton.

Activities: A wide variety of activities are available either on or within a short distance of the estate:
- Shooting: driven pheasant shooting, rough shooting and pigeons from high towers.
- Roe deer stalking on the estate.
- Croquet and clay pigeon shooting - within the Castle grounds.
- Fishing on the Dee, Deveron and Spey Rivers or from a boat or bank on the estate lochs.
- Tennis - on all weather court adjacent to the Castle.
- Golf - testing links at the Royal Aberdeen and Cruden Bay, 40 miles away. There is also Nairn, venue for the 1999 Walker Cup and the Dave Thomas designed Newmachar, home club of the British Open Golf Champion, Paul Lawrie.
- HM Theatre (one of Britain's most beautiful), museums and art galleries in Aberdeen.
- Numerous historic houses, castles and gardens to visit (nine locally).
- Tours and tastings at seven distilleries on the whisky trail.
- Agricultural shows, Highland games, sheep dog trials and pipe band competitions.
- Walking the hills or exploring the coastline with its great variety of seabirds.
