The property lies on three floors and covers approximately 240 sq. metres. The entire house is decorated and furnished in the Tuscan style, much of the furniture is antique and the curtains and hangings are all hand crafted.
The ground floor comprises a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, double bedroom, and a large bathroom. On the first floor there is a large sitting room with an open fireplace, another double bedroom, and a bathroom. The top floor has a dramatic view of the Val d'Orcia, the accommodation on this floor comprises a double bedroom and a small bathroom.
There are two safe-deposit boxes available for storing your valuables; there is also a small outbuilding that houses a laundry, store room and a garage that is available for your use. Should you require it, there are the services of a cleaner available on a daily or weekly basis.
The farm house is provided only as a single unit and is available for rent on a per week basis. It is suitable for a family or a group wishing to relax and enjoy the Tuscan countryside while also taking in the cultural bright lights of Siena and beyond.
Typical tuscan farmhouse that has been divided vertically into two independant parts, with both the entrances and the outside areas situated on opposite sides of the building, and lying about 3 kms from Castiglione d'Orcia, an attractive village south of Siena. Giglianello has been recently renovated, maintaining intact all of the old architectural characteristics and restoring all of the more interesting features. It has been furnished with great care with antique furniture, and using very high-quality finishings and precious objects. It comes equipped with telephone, dishwasher, and washing-machine. On the outside, in the enclosed garden, a 6x12m swimming-pool has been made as well as areas for relaxing and for dining outside.
The area of the Val d'Orcia valley is known as one of the most panoramic in Tuscany and is full of attractive towns that are part and parcel of the history of Siena: Montalcino, where they produce the famous Brunello wine, is about 25 kms away, San Quirico 17, Bagno Vignoni, with its large thermal spring bath in the centre of the piazza, is 13 kms away and Siena 55. The whole area is also well-known, not only for its wines, but also for the excellent tuscan cuisine offered by its many restaurants.
