Villa del Mar is a stunning Mexican modern masterpiece in design and furnishings. This luxury Villa is situated on secluded private Jade Beach, yet within 15 minute walking distance into the town of Akumal.

This amazing five-bedroom villa offers the luxury furnishings and services for a special holiday on the Mexican Caribbean. Villa del Mar takes advantage of Ocean views by subtle elevation plays for expansive family living. The Living room opens up to a covered exterior Living room of two cushion-covered couches, adjacent to the pool, making it easy to be part of the outdoors and not be directly in the sun.

The first floor is designed with an open-floor plan which includes a bedroom suite, a large living room, a gracious indoor dining room with a breakfast bar, a large kitchen and artisan-crafted powder room. This floor flows into the outdoor dining room, cocktail area, living room and pool patio.

Located on the first floor next to the pool has a king-size bed adorned with a headboard and a four-poster frame made by local craftsmen out of jungle-hardwood. Sink into the pillow-top mattress in the luxurious comfort of 400+ thread-count sheets. This suite has a large bathroom with two sinks and a hand-made Mayan-marble bathtub and oversized shower head. Antique bamboo vests decorate the walls of this quiet bedroom decorated in soothing sand colors.

Upstairs you can find four private Bedroom Suites with large private bathrooms and exterior living spaces overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Special attention has been given to the bed design, with unique bed linens and fine sheets of 400 plus thread counts. Each bedroom has a mini-refrigerator, a security safe, a satellite TV and en-suite bathrooms with two sinks, magnifying mirror and hairdryer. All bedrooms are air-conditioned.

The villa is a spacious 4,800 square foot home that can accommodate up to 14 people. All five king-sized bedroom suites have private bathrooms en suite, a television and a mini-bar Refrigerator. All Bedroom Suites capture views of the Ocean. The Villa was designed by the owners with a love for Mexico and the Yucatan region. The house was influenced by the work of the famed Mexico City Architect, Ricardo Legorreta. The villa was built by a local team of Mayan artisan builders. The design marries elements of modern Mexican architecture with local Mayan craftsmanship, the villa makes generous use of the indigenous materials and crafts of the Yucatan and the Mayan people. The designers, who have traveled extensively, have used pieces from global destinations and the world of fashion to create a different type of beach house.

From the moment you see the color of Villa del Mar’s claret red painted exterior, historically used by the Mayans to promote good energy, you will begin to relax. Your pace will begin to slow down. The hand-made terra cotta tiled floors and the heavy wooden double Doors greet you with a feeling of being on vacation in Mexico. There is an immediate sense of holiday, a calm breeze, a sense of security, and a melding union of the blue wall that mimics both the ocean and the sky outdoors. Your senses will heighten as you see through the 25 foot glass wall that frames your sky high view of the Caribbean Ocean.

The floor plan of the Villa is a designed synergy of indoor and outdoor spaces that maximize the ability to be outdoors and indoors all at the same time. The first floor doors disappear into the hidden wall reveals to create wide open spaces to the 60 foot long pool, the lounging patio, the sand patio and ten hardwood Lounge chairs.
