Villa Ferraia is a splendid property immersed in the suggestive Senesi (Siena) hillside. The villa has been christened with the name Ferraia, due to the numerous iron (ferro) mines that were present in the local area during the medieval period. Since it’s abandoned over the centuries this hamlet has been knowingly restored by the present proprietors from 1995 on, maintaining the traditional Tuscan characteristics; “cotto” flooring and visible wooden beams. This property extends over about 10 hectares of land.
Villa Ferraia is now ideal for the weekly rental to groups or families that wish to spend memorable moments immersed in the enchanting Tuscan countryside, with the benefit of the best modern comforts. Guests will have the opportunity to visit Siena which is in the close vicinity and the most popular cities such as Florence, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Cortona and Umbria.
For those who wish to spend time relaxing, Villa Ferraia offer numerous outside spaces for pleasant walks, but also a well positioned suggestive swimming pool with an invisible border equipped with changing rooms and sauna. To finish off this breathtaking property is the possibility to watch the stars on a summers night using the observatory equipped with telescope or you could simply arrive at the property via helicopter.
PARK: the garden extends to over 4 hectares, the area surrounding the property has a beautiful green lawn, whereas the rest of the property grounds is a splendid forest. This property has a biological vegetable garden, external kitchen, a fenced area with domestic animals and three small lakes. Between the villa and the swimming pool there is a impressive patio with great windows. Furthermore, there are various areas which are equipped with table and chairs for lunch and dinners “al fresco” as well as a fitted barbecue. Next to the main building there is a meeting equipped with sofa’s, projector, piano and computer. The observatory with telescope distances 50 meters from the property equipped with table chairs and TV.
SWIMMING POOL: the pool is situated in a panoramic position which distances about 30 meters from the main building. The pool measures 20 x 15 m. with a variable depth from 1,40 to 1,80 m., equipped with external shower. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the last Saturday in October. The pool area is equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas. Next to the pool there are changing rooms with shower, service bathroom and sauna.
INTERIORS: the property is divided into three buildings. The main building in on three floors. On the ground floor there is a spacious kitchen fully equipped with the necessary electro domestic appliances, a dining/living room with fireplace, LCD TV with French doors which lad into the garden. There is also a reading room, a bar area with espresso maker, a single bedroom, a double bedroom, two bathrooms (one with shower and the other with bath tub), and a corner kitchen near the bedrooms. Between the ground floor and the first floor there is a double bedroom with internal bathroom (with bath tub), a corner kitchen, and a living room with fireplace. On the first floor there are three double bedroom each with an internal bathroom with bath tub, a kitchen, a living room with fireplace and a service bathroom. The second floor is divided into two separate wings; in total there are four double bedrooms each with an internal bathroom ( two with shower and two with bath tub). From outside or via the French doors (in the living room) you can reach the last section of the main building which is on three floors. One the ground floor there is a corner kitchen, on the first floor there are two double bedrooms with internal bathrooms (one with shower and the other with bath tub), on the intermediate floor there is a double bedroom with internal bathroom (with bath tub). This bedroom also has direct access into the garden. All the bedrooms are equipped with satellite TV and computer with internet access. All the bathrooms that have a bath tub are fitted with hydro massage system. On the ground floor of the main building there is a telephone and fax at guests disposal.
DEPENDANCE 1: situated about 15 meters from the main building, on two floors and made up of; corner kitchen, single bedroom and bathroom with shower.
DEPENDANCE 2: situated about 10 meters from the main building, on two floors and made up of corner kitchen, living room with fireplace, double bedroom and bathroom with bath tub and shower.
SERVICES INCLUDED: water, gas for kitchen use, electricity, initial and final clearing, 4 hours of daily clearing, weekly linen, pool and park maintenance, use of sauna, wood.
